Entrance to Newgrange. The original entrance was "cut away" when the wall was reconstructed to provide better access (and stop people climbing over the stone that originally blocked the entrance way). The rebuilt wall is faced in the original white quartz with darker river stones dotted about, with the cut away section in the darker stone. The "window box" that lets light into the mound on the Winter Solstice is above the shelf type structure, which sits above the entrance itself.

Some of the stone wall around Newgrange. They don't actually know what way the stones should be - they were found very close and put back on to the wall.
