Coloring your hair is the perfect way to express your individuality, but can cost a fortune at most hair salons. Learn easy and cheap ways to color your hair at home. If you color your hair, you already know that it is most vibrant for those few days in between the actual coloring process and your first post color shampoo. Whether your hair is colored with a demi, semi or permanent color at home or at a salon, there are a few simple things you can do to keep your color vibrant longer.

A moisturizing and nourishing hair conditioner is a must in order to control dry hair and scalp. There are many causes of dry hair. The outside, environmental factors, what we eat, blow-drying, dying the hair, iron curlers... Although less prominent than oily hair, dry hair can look lifeless and lack volume. Split ends are often seen in dry hair and so is dandruff which is the result of dry scalp.

In today's day and age, changing your hair color is as easy as changing your clothes. Whether you need to hide grey, brighten blonde or want a totally different, bold, new look, there's a product out there for you. For much less time and money than a trip to the salon, you can easily color your hair in the convenience of your own home.

'Dye' your hair naturally, with no chemicals, no lead, no artificial dyes. Commercially available Hair Coloring uses chemicals that remove, replace, or enhance the natural pigments in the hair shaft. There are many adverse effects that can result from their use.

- skin irritation, itching, burning, irritation, redness, discomfort

- allergies to the chemicals like PPD (p-Phenylenediamine)

- hair breakage or weakening, over-processing

- skin discoloration or drying

- unpredictable coloring (mostly with at home dyes)

There are a few organic methods of how to color your hair at home. If you're a brunette, you can use coffee to enrich your hair color! Just brew a very strong cup of espresso or a dark roast coffee. Let it cool and add it to your dry hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then shampoo your hair. The coffee will add richness and shine to your dark hair. You can use this trick on natural or color-treated hair.

You can also use fruit juices to enhance your colors. If you use cranberry juice as a final rinse when shampooing your hair, it will bring out your red highlights! It will also freshen up your all-over red hair color, whether it's natural or artificial. You can also use lemon juice to bring out highlights and lighten blonde hair.

Here is a piece of advice which, I would suggest, should be followed before coloring your hair:

1. Understand the texture and density of your hair

2. Choose the hair color diligently

3. Deep condition your hair a few days before coloring

4. To protect your Skin from chemical reactions, shampoo your hair and wait for a couple of days so that natural oils resurface on the scalp

5. Practice sectioning of your hair in one hand and using applicator in the other

6. If you have thick long hair, ask a friend to help you

7. Read the instructions carefully before you apply

All these tips will prove highly beneficial for you and your fragile hair, as this is the crowning glory of a human being. So, how can we afford to go for any chemical application without getting proper advice. These tips will save you from getting into the wrong hands just for the sake of looking beautiful. There is nothing bad in going for these beauty treatments, the only thing you need is the proper channel, which you can only get through proper guidance.
