Divorce is the termination of a marital union, the canceling and/or reorganizing of the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage, thus dissolving the bonds of matrimony between a married couple under the rule of law of the particular country and/or state.

Take a look at the most expensive divorces and the biggest sums paid in Alimony in Hollywood history...

No.13 - Michael Douglas and Diandra Douglas in 1988. Diandra received $45 million after divorce in 2000.

No.12 - Phil Collins and Orianne Cevey in 2003. The couple split in 2008, the divorce cost Collins almost $47 million.
