Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman's huge inflatable sculpture, called Rubber Duck, officially debuted, sailing into Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. Already, it's been causing quite a stir as curious locals have watched it inflate in a shipyard in Tsing Yi. Hofman's famous duck has floated in waters around the world, in cities like Sydney, Osaka, and Sao Paolo, but this is the very first time it has ever been in Hong Kong.
The biggest floating duck in the world, at 16.5 meters high, the happiness-inducing sculpture will be bobbing through Hong Kong's waters for only a limited time. Wouldn't you love to see this in person? “My sculptures cause an uproar, astonishment and put a smile on your face," says the artist. "They give people a break from their daily routines. Passers-by stop in front of them and enter into conversation with other spectators. People are making contact with each other again."
