Hanging coffins on the cliffs of limestone high above the ground from more than 2,000 years. The lumina Burial cave of Sagada the coffins are hung either inside the caves or on the face of the mountain cliff,  Some coffins are well over a century old. Many of coffins  are placed in the highest corner of the cave walls, and these coffins are hanged with strong ropes and wired. The tourist guides say's that the position of the coffins signify how much they loved for dead person or the higher the coffin, the more valued the dead soul. The coffins are made by hollowing out logs that are apparently smaller than the actual size of the dead body. As a result, the body would assume a " foetal Position" a preferred technique believed by ancient Igorots as a way to bring peace to the dead soul. These coffins are prepared elderly before they die; if the person are too ill or weak their family, relatives or son will do it for them. This legislative plait pushing the bodies into the tight spaces of the coffins, and often bones are cracked and broken as the process is completed in the years.
